The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China

The University of Nottingham’s strong links with China resulted in an invitation to become the first foreign university to establish an independent campus, under new legislation passed in China in 2003.

Established in September 2004, the campus is located in Ningbo, an historic city on China's eastern coast, with a population of five million people, lying across the estuary from Shanghai.

The £30 million Ningbo campus was completed in 2005. The Ningbo campus builds on the attributes of University Park in the UK and includes a lake and its own version of Nottingham's famous Trent Building. There are first-class teaching facilities, enthusiastic students in an international setting, excellent research opportunities, and research links with strongly performing schools at the University of Nottingham UK.
